Implementation of the Central Solar Amareleja (Moura)
The largest photovoltaic power station in the world
Acciona has implemented the photovoltaic power station located in the municipality of Moura in the interior region of Amareleja - Portugal, the largest grid-connected photovoltaic power system in the world. The plant has an installed power peak capacity of 46 MWp and been invested 261 million euros.
This plant will have an annual yield of up to 93 million kWh and prevent the CO2 emissions of 89,383 tons. The works have been carried out in a record time of 13 months. The solar plant occupies an area of 250 hectares.
The Central Solar consists of 2.520 one-axis azimuth solar trackers, whose surface array is 150 m2 of each solar tracker and which are set-up 104 polycrystalline silicon modules between 170 to 180 Wp. This represents a total of 262.080 photovoltaic modules in the photovoltaic power station. The solar trackers develop a movement of 240° azimuth rotation range following the parable of the sun, with a tilt angle of 45 degrees.
